Furnishings:
Antique furnishings are made from teak, rosewood, mahogany and satinwood.
Colonial furnishings were produced by the British, Portuguese, Spanish,
Dutch and French who colonized much of the world over the past several
hundred years. In the various countries they inhabited, the colonials
would commission furniture made by local craftsmen from indigenous woods
in the styles of furniture that the colonials had back in their native
countries.
Architectural Elements:
Antique pillars, doors, shutters, balcony rails, windows etc. are mostly
made of Burmese teak which is highly resilient to harsh weather and
insects. Other architectural items, although more rare, are made from
mahogany, rosewood and satinwood. We also custom reproduce architectural
elements from salvaged antique teak wood as well as new sheesham and
rosewood.
